SARPA - Servicios Aéreos Panamericanos (Medellín Enrique Olaya Herrera) has applied for a Foreign Air Carrier Permit (FACP) and an exemption to launch charter non-stop flights between Colombia and the United States.
The privately-owned carrier said in its US Department of Transportation (DOT) application that it plans to operate charters to the US using its two E145s and one Learjet 45. It did not disclose any further details about potential customers, destinations, or the type of charters to be operated.
Historically an air taxi, charter, and medevac operator focused on the domestic market and based out of Medellín Enrique Olaya Herrera, SARPA in 2021 obtained an expanded Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) authorising it to launch scheduled operations, and simultaneously secured approval from the Colombian authorities to fly to the United States. However, it has yet to begin scheduled services.
SARPA is owned by five members of the Arbaláez family.
