MJets Air Sdn Bhd, trading as Kargo Xpress (Kuala Lumpur International), will begin chartered air freight services for Teleport after inking an aircraft charter agreement with Teleport Everywhere Pte Ltd (Singapore). MJets will use a single aircraft to service the contract, with flights starting on May 9 and running until November 2, 2024.
MJets parent entity MMAG Holdings Bhd disclosed the contract in a May 3 Bursa Malaysia filing. A further filing on May 7, in response to a bourse query, provided some additional details. The ch-aviation fleets module shows that Kargo Xpress operates three active B737-800(BCF)s and one inactive B737-400(F).
The disclosures noted that the value of the contract is based on the actual flights flown and schedules completed according to the agreed flight programme as well as the seasonal demand, which "may vary from time to time during the duration and validity of the agreement." There is no renewal clause, but both parties have the option to discuss renewing the contract closer to its end date.
In April, ch-aviation reported that Malaysia Airlines (MH, Kuala Lumpur International) had appointed MJets as its dedicated narrowbody freighter operator for its cargo entity MAB Kargo Sdn Bhd (doing business as MASKargo).
