Pioneer Ace Airlines (Tokyo Haneda) has received the tick of approval from the East Japan Civil Aviation Bureau, an arm of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, after passing an inspection of its transport control facilities, taking Pioneer one step closer to starting a passenger charter operation.
Pioneer is a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan Investment Adviser Co., Ltd., which intends to put Honda HA-420s onto the local leasing market and also offer them out for ad hoc charters, after buying the business in early 2022. It says it hopes to commence operations this month. Pioneer has previously secured its air operator's certificate (AOC) and the inspection concerns changes in the company's business model.
"We have established the operation system, operation control system, and maintenance support system on our own, then we obtained the approval from the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau on April 5 to change our business plan, and also passed the facility inspection on June 27," CEO Makoto Taguchi told ch-aviation.
Pioneer Ace Airlines is preparing to start its on-demand passenger operations with two Honda Aircraft business jets in its fleet - JA86GR (msn 42000157) and JA01PA (msn 42000093). JA01PA is currently registered as a commercial aircraft, and JA86GR is scheduled to be registered as a commercial aircraft in the near future.
