ANA Holdings is set to enter the business aviation niche following the signing of partnership agreements with each of Sojitz Corporation, a Japanese general trading company, and Honda Aircraft (HON, Greensboro Piedmont Triad International).
In the first instance, ANA and Sojitz have established ANA Business Jet Co., a 51/49 joint venture that will offer ANA passengers, arriving in Japan on regular flights from North America and Europe, with access to business jets for onward charter flights to various worldwide destinations.
To that end, ANA Holdings has selected Honda Aircraft's HondaJet to meet its executive/private charter requirements.
"Through this strategic partnership and use of the HondaJet, ANA will create new demand to utilize business jets, in particular for travellers of various Japanese entities who value convenience and privacy in their overseas travel," ANA's President and CEO, Shinya Katanozaka, said in a statement.
ANA Business Jet is to be formally unveiled later this summer.
