Volato (TMB, Houston Hobby) has taken delivery of the first of its four new G280s on direct order from Gulfstream Aerospace, N280CX (msn 2282), which was ferried from Greenville/Spartanburg International to Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson on August 9. Volato immediately began showcasing the new type to the market at Chicago Midway, Van Nuys, Las Vegas Harry Reid, Dallas Love Field, Miami Opa-Locka, and other airports.

Volato expects a second G280 by the end of the year, followed by the other two in 2025. Deliveries are delayed compared to the original schedule, which foresaw the first aircraft entering service in early 2024.

The operator is adding the G280 to its well-established fractional ownership programme, which has thus far included the world's largest fleet of HA-420s. Volato operates 25 of these very light jets across all variants. Among its Part 135-certified fleet are also one Hawker 750XP, one King Air B200GT, one King Air B300, and one Cessna Citation Bravo.
