Tulpar Air has taken delivery of its second Bombardier Aerospace Challenger 850, the first aircraft inducted into its fleet from a foreign register since Western sanctions were imposed on Russian airlines in 2022, ch-aviation research has revealed.
RA-73633 (msn 8068) was ferried from Muscat to Moscow Vnukovo under its new Russian registration on October 18, 2024. It began operating under Tulpar Air's 'TUL' code on October 23, with the first flight headed to Novosibirsk.
The 16.1-year-old aircraft was previously operated by Kazakhstan's Fly Jet KZ (FJK, Almaty International) as UP-C6003. Despite being on the Kazakh register, it operated mostly out of Russia, ch-aviation analysis of ADS-B data reveals. Its last flight under the 'FJK' code was on September 1, when it was flown from one of the Moscow airports via Aktau to Muscat.
Tulpar Air also added a Global 5000, RA-73545 (msn 9639), in March 2024, but the aircraft had already been based in Russia before, operating for Tarp Airlines.
The company is based out of Kazan International and owned by a local investment fund, TAIF. Its fleet comprises one more Challenger 850, one Challenger 300, one Challenger 350 (which has been inactive since December 2022), two Global 5000s, and one Global 6000.
Tulpar Air is independent of similarly named Tulpar Airlines, a unit of Tulpar Aero Group, which operates three Challenger 850s, one Challenger 300, two Challenger 350s, and one Global 5000.
