Solairus Aviation (TWY, Novato) retired its final Citation Sovereign from its Part 135-certified fleet in December 2024, ch-aviation research shows.
N636BC (msn 680-0239), a 16.2-year-old aircraft, had been part of Solairus Aviation's fleet since 2023. The company previously operated two other Sovereigns, including one from 2012 to 2016 and another added in 2021 and retired in 2023.
The jet, not currently listed as Part 135-certified, has been operating under Buffalo River Aviation's 'OFT' code since December 11. While Buffalo River Aviation does not hold its own Part 135 certificate, it provides charter services through a partnership with Central Flying Service. Currently, Buffalo River offers a Citation Jet 3+ and a King Air F90 for charter, both operating under the company's 'OFT' code and under the Part 135 certificate of Central Flying Service.
ch-aviation contacted Buffalo River Aviation and Central Flying Service for information regarding the Citation Sovereign's future.
Solairus Aviation's charter fleet consists of 139 aircraft. The company continues to operate other Citation models, including a recently added Citation Encore +, two Citation XLS+, and a Citation XLS Gen2. The private jet charter and aircraft management firm operates a range of aircraft produced by Bombardier Business Aircraft, Dassault Aviation, Embraer Executive Jets, Gulfstream Aerospace, and Pilatus Aircraft, having inducted its first G700 and Challenger 3500 jets in late 2024.
