Hong Kong Airlines (HX, Hong Kong International) President Yang Jianhong has told Bloomberg that the carrier is in talks with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) to swap at least some of its orders for 10 A380-800s to smaller A330-200s or A330-300s. The HNA Group subsidiary had just finalized the A380-800 order in early 2012 when it still had plans to launch additional long-haul routes in addition to its now already failed attempt to establish itself in the Hong Kong to London market. It has since announced a strategy change and plans to concentrate on regional services within Asia instead.
