SriLankan Air Taxi (Colombo International) has confirmed that it plans to return its two DHC-6 seaplane aircraft to the lessors later this year. It however seems to be planning to continue operations with different aircraft as a SriLankan Airlines (UL, Colombo International) spokesperson has confirmed to ch-aviation that SriLankan plans to retain the Air Taxi brand and operations without providing further details on the planned aircraft type replacing its two DHC-6-100s. Competitor Cinnamon Air (C7, Colombo International) has recently announced plans to launch a domestic seaplane operation in Sri Lanka as well competing with SriLankan Air Taxi on several routes.
