Maximus Air (Abu Dhabi International) has parked its fleet of five A300-600(F)s, effective immediately, while cancelling all existing operational contracts. According to the carrier, the decision was taken by the board of directors of Maximus Air and parent Abu Dhabi Aviation (BAR, Abu Dhabi International) on realising that current and future contracts would be insufficient to cover projected costs. As such, the company will use the downtime to "focus on more lucrative sectors of its offerings," while implementing a number of necessary cost-cutting and restructuring measures in the months ahead. Maximus will continue to offer the An-124 and Il-76 freighters operated by sister carrier Maximus Airlines (6M, Abu Dhabi International) based in Abu Dhabi but registered in Ukraine.
