Polet (Voronezh Chertovitskoye) is facing an uncertain future following a report by CargoFacts that it will stop operating its three Il-96-400Ts RA-96101, RA-96102 and RA-96103 (msn 97693201001, 002, 003) due to weak demand and insufficient revenue. Amongst a flurry of legal action over non-payments of other outstanding debts, it is also believed that two of its four An-124s RA-82075 and RA-82080 (msn 9773053459147 & 9773051462161), have been bartered to Ilyushin Finance to pay off the debts on the Il-96 freighters. According to reports in the Russian media, Polet’s finances have been under pressure for some time. Interfax reported that Polet has also been asked by the governor of the Voronezh region to sell its 51% stake in the operator of Voronezh Chertovitskoye Airport, as it could no longer afford to operate it.
