Maastricht Airlines (Maastricht) would start operations using jet aircraft, as opposed to Fokker 50s as originally intended, should the venture secure adequate funding, the airline's curator, Mr John Huppertz, has said. Unlucky Maastricht were to have begun flights earlier this year using two ex-airBaltic (BT, Riga) Fokker 50s on lease from Italy's MiniLiner (Milan Bergamo). However, its launch was continuously delayed, before being cancelled outright, after it was reportedly found that the aircraft were in need of "an additional 1'800 hours of maintenance" before they could enter service.
