Air Sweden (Stockholm Arlanda) has reportedly abandoned plans announced earlier this year to develop Copenhagen Kastrup into a hub for flights from Northern Sweden an connecting to the Middle East and Europe. According to check-in.dk, the carrier's site now only reflects Frankfurt International as its southern-most destination. In February, Air Sweden had outlined routes to Southern Europe and the Middle East which were to have included Skopje, Amman Queen Alia and Beirut and two Iraqi destinations, though their respective launches have been continuously postponed. As of this writing, Air Sweden has temporarily suspended operations for the summer holidays and plans to resume operations from September 2 offering six weekly services from Arvidsjaur via Skellefteå to Frankfurt International, four weekly flights from Skellefteå via Norrköping to Copenhagen, three weekly rotations each from Frankfurt to Karlstad and Norrköping as well as two weekly flights from Skellefteå via Karlstad to London Stansted.
