Aurigny Air Services (GR, Guernsey) has placed an order with Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos U.E. Stumpf International) for one E195 tentatively due in mid-June 2014. In an interview with the BBC, Mark Darby, Aurigny's interim chief executive, said: "I can't really say exactly what the price is, but it is going to be something well below GBP25million." Mr Darby said buying, rather than leasing, the aircraft would give his airline "the best flexibility and support". The States agreed to guarantee the purchase of the jet at its July meeting and the airline has signed an initial agreement with the Brazilian manufacturer. In the meantime, the carrier will wet-lease another "similar" jet for a period of two to three months.
