Air Caucasus (Tbilisi) has officially launched operations following its maiden flight from Tbilisi to Antalya, Turkey on Sunday, August 18. The flight was operated using its sole MD-83, 4L-LUL (msn 49948) on lease from AL!SMY. Speaking on the occasion, co-founder and director of Air Caucasus, George Kodua, said future flights would include Istanbul Atatürk and Astana Nursultan Nazarbayev followed by Kiev, Minsk National,Tashkent International, Moscow, St. Petersburg and, possibly, Samara Kurumoch in September 2013. Air Caucasus co-founders include A-Sonic Aerospace Limited, a Singaporean firm.
