Fly Romania (Bucharest Henri Coanda) successfully commenced operations on May 15 with flights from Bucharest Henri Coanda to Tulcea using an MD-83, YR-OTY (msn 49950), operated by parent Ten Airways (Bucharest Baneasa). The Romanian LCC also began flights to Milan Bergamo, Verona, Frankfurt Hahn, and Genoa on May 16 with future plans to serve Antalya and Barcelona El Prat in June.
Both Ten Airways and FlyRomania are owned by Ovidiu Tender, the CEO of Romanian prospecting company, Prospectiuni, which works with Romanian clients such as oil and gas companies Petrom, Romgaz and Rompetrol, as well as with clients from Europe, Africa and Middle East.
