Flying Fox Airways (Ipoh) has been renamed to YOU Wings (Ipoh) ahead of its planned relaunch on August 4. With the recent arrival of new shareholders and a new board of directors, the Malaysian carrier intends to offer daily Penang to Medan Kuala Namu, Indonesia flights before expanding to include Ipoh, once runway maintenance there is complete, Kuala Terengganu, Dhaka, Shenzhen and Guangzhou in the near future.
It is also considering establishing a secondary base in Medan in due course.
In the long-term, YOU Wings intends to expand to include flights to Thailand, Singapore, China, Macau, Japan and Australia. It will initially use B737-400s chartered from Sriwijaya Air (SJ, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta).
