Centurion Air Cargo (Miami International) has terminated its services between the United States and Europe with its last flight, Miami International to Amsterdam Schiphol, operated on Thursday, September 25, the CargoFacts publication has reported.
The decision to drop Europe from its network comes amid growing concerns about Centurion's future given that creditors have filed lawsuits totalling over USD20million for claims ranging from the non-payment of fuel bills to non-payment of aircraft leases.
Centurion has now parked its fleet of three MD-11(F)s relying instead on B747-400(F)s operated by sister carrier SkyLease Cargo (GG, Miami International) on an ad-hoc basis to operate scheduled cargo flights to Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay, and Chile. SkyLease has also parked four of its fleet of five MD-11 freighters.
