A Brazilian Regional Labour Court has ordered the seizure of a B747-400(F) belonging to SkyLease Cargo (GG, Miami International) after creditors cited outstanding debts of BRL15 million (USD3.93 million). Brazilian law enforcement officials subsequently impounded N903AR (msn 33096) on the evening of Monday, November 16 shortly after its arrival from Miami International.
The Globo newspaper says disgruntled pilots and ground staff filed the claim against a group of companies lead by Alfonso C. Rey including Skylease, sister carrier Centurion Air Cargo (Miami International) along with defunct Brazilian carrier Master Top Linhas Aéreas (São Paulo Viracopos) and Peru's Cielos Airlines (Lima International) citing unpaid overtime and contract termination payouts dating back to 2011.
Skylease had not responded to ch-aviation's request for comment at the time of going to press.
