Helitt Líneas Aéreas (Malaga) has suspended operations indefinitely amid crippling debts of EUR5million (USD6.351million). In a letter to employees seen by Spain's El Mundo newspaper, the carrier said that in light of its debt, it could no longer justify operations given a lack of liquidity and its inability to repay creditors.
Helitt's workforce entails 59 workers all of whom will be laid off in due course.
Majority-owned by the Parquigran group, a building company which also manages public and private parking lots in both Spain and Morocco, Helitt operated as a scheduled carrier until 2013 when it switched to charter flights.
At present, its fleet consists of two ATR72-200s.
