Air Croatia (Zagreb Franjo Tuđman) has set its sights on a Christmas launch date, six months after poor consumer demand forced it to postpone its original launch plans. EX-YU Aviation News says the carrier is now planning to serve Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa, Prague Václav Havel, and Düsseldorf from its Zagreb Franjo Tuđman hub this Christmas with Helsinki Vantaa, Bucharest Henri Coanda, Stockholm Arlanda, and Belgrade Nikola Tesla to follow by Easter next year.
The start-up is looking to enter unserved markets which hold great potential, while at the same time avoiding direct competition with its rivals.
Though it had originally planned to lease an A319-100 from CSA Czech Airlines (Prague Václav Havel) in June, it is uncertain what it plans to use for its maiden flights this time round.
