Air Marshall Islands (CWM, Majuro) has acquired a Do228 from Nepalese operator, Tara Air (Kathmandu), with delivery scheduled for January next year. The transaction, valued at USD2.1million, was finalized by Marshallese government officials and representative from the Nepalese carrier in Kathmandu last week.
Following repainting in Manila Ninoy Aquino International next month, the aircraft will then be ferried to Majuro where it will be certified by the Marshall Islands Directorate of Civil Aviation (MIDCA).
Air Marshall Islands currently operates its own Do228 and a Dash 8-100 on charter flights as well as regular scheduled internal flights to Bikini Atoll, Enewetak Island, Jeh, Kwajalein Island, Rongelap, and Woja.
