LAN Perú (Lima International) will introduce three B787s into its fleet in January next year as part of its fleet renewal programme CEO Félix Antelo has said. In an interview with the Gestion newspaper, Antelo said the twinjets would be deployed onto the carrier's Los Angeles International, Madrid Barajas, New York JFK, Miami International and possibly México City International flights.
The Dreamliners will gradually replace LAN Perú's existing fleet of eight B767-300s once they begin arriving, he added.
In terms of its Boeing (BOE, Washington National) order book, parent LAN Airlines (Santiago de Chile) has twenty-two B787-8s on order, of which ten have so far been delivered, and twelve B787-9s, of which two have so far been delivered.
In other related news, LAN is to retire its last remaining A340-300s on April 17 when the type is scheduled to complete its final Sydney Kingsford Smith-Auckland International-Santiago de Chile service.
