Greenland Express (Aalborg) has sold a 35% shareholding to the Würban Group - a venture capitalist group that up until now, has primarily focused on agricultural and commodity investments in countries such as Mozambique, South Africa, and Zambia.

Following the transaction, Würban will work in tandem with Greenland Express CEO Gert Brask in heading up the airline's official board management structure and further key appointments to spearhead operational tasks.

With fresh capital to shore up operations, the airline now hopes to resume operations on July 28 having missed a July 2 launch date.

The Danish Transport Authority (Trafikstyrelsen) recently granted the virtual carrier's Bulgarian partner, BH Air - Balkan Holidays Air (8H, Sofia), permission to operate flights between Denmark and Greenland over the period June 2, 2015 to June 1, 2016.

Using an A319-100, initial flights will cover Copenhagen Kastrup and Billund in Denmark to Kangerlussuaq and Narsarsuaq in Greenland. Domestic Greenlandic operations are also expected to roll out later this summer.
