Hahnair (HR, Düsseldorf) is considering expanding its charter operations to include flights to tourist hotspots such as Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca in the Spanish Balearic Islands.
“Hahn Air has plans to extend its service to medium- and long-haul flights,” airline general manager and COO Daniel Rudas told AINOnline.
In anticipation of the launch, Hahn Air this month acquired a new Cessna 680 Sovereign Executive Jet to add to the two Cessna Citation CJ4s (Model 525C) already in service on its sole scheduled route - Düsseldorf-Luxembourg. Delivery of the transcontinental-capable jet is slated for November of this year.
Though more well-known for its e-ticket platform and airline IT services business, Hahn Air has been a certified passenger carrier since 1994.
While it initially operated an eclectic fleet of turboprops, it subsequently transitioned to the Cessna Citation CJ2 (Model 525A) and Premier I until 2011 when changes to IATA’s Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) warranted an upgrade to the Cessna Citation CJ4 (Model 525C).
