Malindo Air (Kuala Lumpur International) will transition to a Full Service Carrier as part of its upcoming rebranding to Batik Air Malaysia (OD, Kuala Lumpur International) in either June or July of this year.

To that end, CAPA reports the Malaysian hybrid carrier is currently evaluating frequency and schedule adjustments across its existing network of twenty-two international routes to better meet the needs of business travellers. It also recently completed its move back to KLIA Terminal 1 from the LCC terminal, KLIA2.

The Lion Air (JT, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) subsidiary currently operates a fleet of ten ATR72-600s, ten B737-800s, and six B737-900(ER)s on flights throughout Malaysia as well as to Indonesia, India, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Australia, and China. Plans are currently afoot to expand further into the Australian, South Korean and Japanese markets, which would be served as part of one-stop fifth freedom routes via Indonesia and Taiwan.
