Trans Island Airways (GGT, Nassau International) has applied to the US Department of Transportation (DOT) for exemption authority to operate chartered passenger and cargo flights between the Bahamas and the United States in the near future.
The Bahamian operator said in its application that it plans to utilize its fleet of four leased aircraft, including a Cessna 560, a pair of Cessna (twin piston) 402Cs, and a Learjet 60, on services to select, albeit unspecified, destinations in Florida.
Founded in 2014, TIA is a privately-owned charter carrier specializing in flights throughout the Bahamas archipelago.
