Air Costa (Vijayawada) has been granted a pan-India license from the Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), allowing it to expand its coverage across the country.
Air Costa’s Chief Executive Officer, Vivek Choudhary, told India's Economic Times that the airline will now focus on expanding both its fleet and route network. "After obtaining the licence, it opens the avenues to add more destinations including trunk sectors such as Delhi International, Mumbai International and other sectors with growing air travel population such as Lucknow, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Indore etc.", Choudhary said.
Since its launch in 2012, Air Costa's operations have been restricted to India's Southern Region whose confines include the Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad metropolitan areas.
At present, Air Costa operates three E190s on flights to Bengaluru International, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad International, Jaipur, Tirupati, Vijayawada and Vishakhapatnam.
