FlairJet (United Kingdom) (Oxford Kidlington) has announced that it will be operating an E505 Phenom 300 on behalf of start-up virtual carrier Surf Air Europe (London City), with the aircraft entering service next month.
"This is an important move as we work to expand our footprint globally and bring our successful and innovative product from the US to new members in the growing intra-European business travel market," said Surf Air Europe CEO Simon Talling-Smith.
Surf Air will offer a subscription service similar to its US sister company Surf Air (URF, Santa Monica), which has used this model on the US west coast since 2013. According to the Surf Air website, European flights will be London Luton – Ibiza and Luton – Cannes Croisette. In addition to the jets, Surf Air Europe plans to deploy PC-12s.
Prior to this announcement, Surf Air had been in discussions with TAG Aviation (United Kingdom) (VIP, Farnborough) to operate its fleet. At that time, it said it would fly twice a day on weekdays and once a day on weekends from its London Luton hub to Zurich, Geneva, and Cannes Croisette.
