Mokulele Airlines (MHO, Kona) has informed the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) that it intends to terminate its unsubsidised services at Hana, Hawaii. The US carrier currently connects Hana to Kahului via Kona 2x daily.
"We had cost sharing agreements set up with local businesses that have come to an end," the filing says. "As a result, we will need to terminate unsubsidized service to this community."
Mokulele has been operational since 1998, serving destinations in Hawaii as well as California. According to its website, it has a fleet of eleven Cessna (single turboprop) 208EX Grand Caravans.
