FlyLAL (Vilnius) has been forced to suspend scheduled operations on January 21 because of financial difficulties after a proposed takeover by Swiss investor SCH Swiss Capital Holdings fell through. It had already previously cut some routes such as Vilnius-Istanbul Ataturk, Vilnius-Paris CDG and Vilnius-Rome Fiumicino in early January in an attempt to cut down losses. Its former charter division FlyLAL Charters (LLC/Vilnius) that was only granted an own air operator certificate in late 2008 is continuing charter and ACMI operations with two B757-200s, three B737-300s and three B737-500s including wet-leases on behalf Jet Time (JTG/Copenhagen Kastrup) and Scat (DV/Chimkent).
