Lufthansa Cargo (LH, Frankfurt International) has signed an investment agreement with Fleet Logistics, a tech start-up based in Portland, OR, to boost the application of new technologies in its global logistics processes.
Fleet Logistics, a company launched in 2014, operates a marketplace platform which connects customers with logistics companies with spare capacity on the route in demand.
'We expect substantial learnings with regard to our product and service portfolio. Thus, we are sure that Lufthansa Cargo and Fleet Logistics will mutually benefit from sharing concepts and ideas," Lufthansa Cargo CEO Peter Gerber said.
Neither the value of the investment nor the exact share in Fleet Logistics acquired by Lufthansa Cargo has been disclosed. The investment is a part of the Lufthansa Group's digitisation strategy and has been concluded with the support of Lufthansa Innovation Hub initiative.
