LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin) is evaluating the use of Embraer E2 regional jets for its future short-haul needs, the Polish Radio Information Agency (IAR) has reported.
The Brazilian manufacturer brought its E190-E2 jet to Warsaw Chopin on September 4, 2018, and performed a demonstration flight over the Polish capital with the carrier's representatives and the media onboard.
Spokesman Adrian Kubicki underlined that LOT had good experiences with the current generation of Embraer jets and would be interested in adding the new generation units for the purposes of fleet renewal. However, he stressed that no decisions had yet been taken.
The Polish flag carrier currently operates six E170LRs, twelve E175s (including two for government transport at Polska Wojska Lotnicze i Obrony Powietrznej), six E195ARs, and six EMB-195LRs. It also due to add four E190s by the end of 2018. Once it does so, it will become the world's first operator of all four types of the current generation of Embraer Regional Jets.
According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Embraer has so far delivered three EMB-190 E2s, all of them to Norway's Widerøe.
