Costa Rica Green Airways (GW, San José Tobías Bolaños) owner Everardo Carmona says the Costa Rican civil aviation authority (Dirección General de Aviación Civil - DGAC) has awarded the start-up its permits ahead of a revised launch date of November. The start-up had previously planned to launch in September.
According to The Costa Rica Star newspaper, Costa Rica Green Airways will offer scheduled flights from San José Juan Santamaría to each of Tambor (Puntarenas), Nosara (Guanacaste) and Quepos La Managua (Puntarenas) initially. Thereafter, it will look to add service to Puerto Jiménez, Golfito, Guanacaste, and Tamarindo. It also plans to build its own airport in Santa Teresa.
A unit of CarmonAir (San José Tobías Bolaños), Green Airways’ fleet includes Piper (twin piston) Seneca Turbos, BN-2s, a DHC-6, and a Beech (twin turboprop) F-90.
