SF Airlines (O3, Shenzhen) has taken redelivery of its first of two ex-Jade Cargo International B747-400(ERF)s following extensive heavy maintenance needed to return the mothballed aircraft to serviceability.
According to an airline statement, B-2422 (msn 35173) was ferried from Guangzhou to Shenzhen on October 26 and the aircraft has since flown a rotation to Changzhou according to ch-aviation analysis of FlightRadar24 ADS-B data. Sistership B-2423 (msn 35174) is currently parked at Shanghai Pudong and its own entry-into-service date is currently unknown.
SF Airlines also operates thirteen B737-300(F)s, one -(SF), three B737-400(F)s, twenty-five B757-200(PCF)s, one -(SF), and six B767-300(ERBCF)s on a network spanning 37 cities across China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Taiwan, Japan, and Hong Kong.
SF Airlines carries out logistics and haulage flights for parent firm SF Express.
As part of its regional growth and consolidation plans, SF Holdings last week agreed to acquire DHL Group's Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau supply chain business in a deal valued at around EUR700 million euro (USD800 million).
Under the terms of the strategic partnership agreement, Deutsche Post DHL Group will receive an upfront payment of around CNY5.5 billion yuan (USD800 million) and a revenue-based partnership fee over the next ten years. S.F. Holding will, in turn, have access to Deutsche Post DHL Group'ssupply chain services, management expertise, transportation and warehousing technology.
The co-branded organization will operate under the leadership of Yin Zou, the current CEO, Greater China of DHL Supply Chain, along with his existing management team.
