Star Air (India) (S5, Belgaum) has announced via its Facebook page that it plans to launch commercial services on January 25, 2019.

The Indian regional start-up plans to initially operate from Hubli to Tirupati and Bengaluru International with daily flights on each of the routes. Flights will be onboard the carrier's only aircraft, an E145LR VT-GSC (msn 14500845). A second aircraft, VT-GSE (msn 145698) is currently in the process of being delivered to the start-up according to Skyliner Aviation.

Star Air's booking system also includes Belgaum as a destination, although no flights are available as of January 14, 2019.

The Hubli-Bangalore route is already operated by IndiGo Airlines, Air India, Alliance Air (India), and SpiceJet, while there are no flights from the city to Tirupati, the ch-aviation capacity module shows.
