ABX Air (GB, Wilmington Air Park) is looking to ameliorate a shortage of qualified B767 flightcrew through a flow-through programme with Air Cargo Carriers (2Q, Milwaukee General Mitchell) wherein its Short Brothers crews can further their careers at Boeing-operator ABX Air.
Air Cargo Carriers crew who serve as pilot-in-command for a minimum of two years and who have at least 1,000 hours of flying time in this role "can bypass the interview process and obtain a training class opportunity at ABX Air, contingent on their passing the required background checks", a joint statement by the two cargo airlines said.
ABX Air, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group, currently operates twelve B757-200(SF), one B767-200(BDSF), and nine B767-300(ERBDSF) aircraft, according to ch-aviation fleets. An additional B767-200(ER) is currently parked in Wilmington.
Air Cargo Carriers describes itself as the largest commercial owner and operator of Shorts aircraft in the world and operates a fleet of twenty-four Shorts 360s as well as one each of a Shorts 330, Cessna 650, Cessna 208B(F), and Beech (twin piston).
"The two airlines share a similar customer base and operate out of similar airports, including Cincinnati International Airport (CVG)," the statement added.
