Busy Bee Congo (Goma) has been forced to suspend flight operations following the crash of one of its Do228-200s on November 24. 9S-GNH (msn 8030) crashed shortly after take-off from Goma killing all 17 passengers and 2 crew aboard and injuring several more on the ground.
According to Ici Kivu news, the Democratic Republic of Congo's (DRC) civil aviation authority (Autorité de l’aviation civile - AAC) grounded the remainder of Busy Bee's fleet (one Do228-100 and two -200s) following a directive from the Minister of Transport, Didier Mazenga. The order is effective until further notice.
Busy Bee used its fleet of Dornier turboprops to run regular passenger flights connecting Beni, Goma, and Butembo, all of which are located in the eastern province of North Kivu.
