Employees of JetLite (Delhi International) have petitioned the National Company Law Tribunal to be included in their parent carrier Jet Airways' ongoing bankruptcy proceedings, The Economic Times has reported.
"Claims submitted to the Jet Airways' Resolution Professionals are being rejected, and JetLite's employees are being neglected," the counsel of the employees argued.
JetLite was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jet Airways which operated domestic flights in India using B737-700s and B737-800s. It suspended operations together with its parent on April 17, 2019. Since JetLite leased all of its aircraft, it no longer has any aircraft at its disposal, contrary to Jet Airways.
The LCC subsidiary is not subject to separate bankruptcy proceedings and has therefore been treated as a group member of Jet Airways.
