Austral (Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery) has retired its last MD-81 leaving Laser Airlines (QL, Caracas Simón Bolivar), Olympia Aviation (Pontiac Oakland County International) and Orient Thai Airlines (Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) as the only remaining MD-81 operators in the world. Austral still operates five MD-83s and a MD-88 along with its 20 E190s.
