Public Charters (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International) is set to resume scheduled passenger flights after the US Department of Transportation (DOT) issued a Show Cause order granting it commuter air carrier authority for a second time. Public Charters Inc. saw its original authorisation revoked in November last year following an extended period of dormancy. It then reapplied in December culminating in this recent development.
If the order is confirmed, Public Charters plans to offer a 5x weekly return flight between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International and Atlantic City using its Piper (twin piston) PA-31 Mojave.
PCI was incorporated in Pannsylvania in 2009 and is wholly owned by local entrepreneur James Gallagher. It currently provides ad-hoc passenger flights under Part 135 and 298 opspecs using a fleet of three aircraft: one Piper Navajo configured with 7 passenger seats; one Piper Mojave configured with 6 passenger seats; and a Beech (twin turboprop) King Air B200, configured with 9 passenger seats.
PCI also operates as an indirect air carrier, marketing and selling Part 380 public charters under the trade name North Country Sky linking Manistee with Chicago Midway.
