LATAM Airlines (LA, Santiago de Chile) ordered seventeen A321-200Ns from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) during the 2022 Farnborough International Air Show. In addition, the LATAM Airlines Group carrier also confirmed plans to introduce the A321-200NY(XLR) type into its longhaul network but gave no inkling as to the number of aircraft to be acquired.
As part of its Chapter 11 restructuring, the carrier said it reached an agreement with Airbus for a total of seventy A320neo Family jets, deliveries of which are due through 2028, though this may be revised according to market conditions.
The group has five passenger AOCs in Latin America. Besides that in Chile, it also has LATAM Airlines Brasil, LATAM Airlines Colombia, LATAM Airlines Ecuador, and LATAM Airlines Perú. It has a total of forty-nine A321-200s in its fleet at present with the Chilean AOC operating 18 and the Brazilians operating 31. LATAM Chile currently has five A321neo awaiting delivery, the ch-aviation fleets module shows.
