Dana Air (9J, Lagos) will resume flights on November 9 following the successful conclusion of an audit by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
The regulator suspended the airline's Operating Licence (OL) and Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) on July 20, 2022, after it found it was unable to meet its financial obligations and conduct safe flight operations.
In a statement on November 5, Dana Air Accountable Manager and Chief Operating Officer Ememobong Ettete said the NCAA audit had been extensive and an effective "re-engineering and restructuring process". With a new management team, Dana Air was now "well positioned despite the current challenges and hostile economic environment" and "concentrating on strengthening its operations efficiently for sustainable growth" while offering safe and reliable flights. "This audit has repositioned us as a vibrant and resilient brand, and it's turned out really good for us and for the industry at large."
The airline will resume daily flights from Lagos to each of Abuja, Port Harcourt Awolowo, Enugu, and Owerri. It has extended the validity of unused tickets for a year.
