Air India (AI, Delhi International) took delivery of its first A321-200NX on March 25, 2023.
VT-RTD (msn 11183) was ferried directly from Hamburg Finkenwerder to Delhi International, but has yet to be inducted into service by the airline. It is the first of at least eight of the type secured from lessors, the ch-aviation fleets module shows. Air India has recently committed to adding seventy A321-200NX as a part of its blockbuster order for 470 aircraft.
The airline did not respond to ch-aviation's request for clarification.
Air India's current narrowbody fleet entails twenty A319-100s, nine A320-200s, twenty-seven A320-200Ns, and fourteen A321-200s.
