American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) has placed a firm order with Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos U.E. Stumpf International) for four incremental E175s to be placed with the airline's wholly-owned production carrier, Envoy Air (MQ, Dallas/Fort Worth).
"These new jets will allow us to continue growing with American Airlines. We're pleased to announce these additional four aircraft, following the order announced in June [for seven aircraft], as the US domestic and regional markets recover from a very challenging few years," President and Chief Executive of Envoy Air, Pedro Fábregas, said.
All four aircraft are scheduled to deliver in the fourth quarter of 2024.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows that Envoy Air currently operates twenty-six E170s (with three more second-hand units due) and 107 E175s (with eleven more due, including the new order). The production carrier retired its last E145 in June 2023. While all the E175s are owned by American Airlines, Envoy Air leases all but two E170s from Republic Airways (YX, Indianapolis International) and Azorra, the ch-aviation fleets ownership module indicates.
Republic Airways and SkyWest Airlines (OO, St. George Municipal) also operate E175s on behalf of American Airlines under the American Eagle brand.
