Royal Jordanian (RJ, Amman Queen Alia) has ordered four more B787-9s from Boeing (BOE, Washington National). In its announcement made during the ongoing Dubai Airshow 2023, the majority state-owned carrier also reconfirmed a previous order for two B787-9s, bringing its total backlog for the type to six.
Chief executive Samer Majali had previously told ch-aviation that Royal Jordanian was looking at both the B787-9 and B787-10 as possible replacements for its fleet of seven B787-8s, which average 9 years of age and all of which are leased save for two.
Aside from the Boeing widebodies, Royal Jordanian also operates five A319-100s, nine A320-200s, two A321-200s, two E175s, two E195s, and one A310-300(F).
