Hai Au Aviation (HAI, Hanoi Noi Bai International) is a Vietnamese start-up backed by the Thien Minh Group and Focus Travel Group. The carrier plans to launch scheduled services between Hanoi Noi Bai International and the tourist mecca of Ha Long Bay this September using a fleet of Cessna (single turboprop) Grand Caravans Seaplanes. Hai Au recently handed over two Caravans to Wipaire in the United States for the installation of floats with the modified aircraft expected back in Vietnam in August.
It also plans to expand its operation to the southern part of the country with flights between Ho Chi Minh City and other tourist destinations like Thanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, Can Tho, An Giang, Con Dao, and Phu Quoc.
