ANA Holdings has announced it has secured board approval for its plan to acquire two B777-Fs.
In a filing to the Tokyo stock exchange, the carrier group said it had decided to place an order with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for the two freighters for delivery in Fiscal Year 2019 (i.e. between April 1, 2019, and March 31, 2020).
Given rebounding global freight demand, the large widebody aircraft will be used to develop ANA's Asia/China to North America market presence.
ANA - All Nippon Airways (NH, Tokyo Haneda) currently operates twelve B767-300Fs including one (BCF), seven (ERBCF)s, and four (ERF)s. NCA - Nippon Cargo Airlines (KZ, Tokyo Narita) will assist ANA in the induction and deployment of the B777s as part of their recently signed partnership agreement.
