Air Peace (P4, Lagos) has taken delivery of its first B777-300 following the arrival of 5N-BUU (msn 29064) in Lagos on Saturday, August 25.
Formerly A6-EMU with Emirates, the near 16-year-old twinjet joins B777-200(ER) 5N-BVE (msn 29324) which delivered to West Africa in February but which has yet to be deployed into commercial service.
Air Peace Chief Executive Officer, Allen Onyema, said in a statement that the carrier expects two more B777-200(ER)s to deliver before year-end.
“We are very happy we’ve taken delivery of another of our Boeing 777 aircraft in preparation for our international operations and we are looking at commencing operations on one of the routes before the last quarter of the year," he said.
Air Peace has previously pointed to using the B777s to open up long-haul routes to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo, Guangzhou, Dubai International, Mumbai International, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson, and Houston Intercontinental.
