Kargo Xpress (Kuala Lumpur International) took delivery of its first B737-800(BCF) - N248GE (msn 34267) - on November 19, 2021.

The 14.5.-year-old Boeing aircraft was ferried to Kuala Lumpur International after conversion in Jinan and is still registered in the United States despite wearing the Malaysian cargo specialist's livery. As of December 2, its American registration remains valid, although it will become 9M-KXB in Malaysia.

The freighter is the first of a pair of B737-800(BCF)s ordered by Kargo Xpress from GECAS. The other, N249GE (msn 34966), is scheduled for delivery in early 2022. Currently, the airline operates a single B737-400(F) predominantly on domestic routes, connecting Kuala Lumpur with two main cities on Malaysian Borneo - Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. Kargo Xpress also operates frequent charters to Macau International and, more sporadically, to other international destinations in the region.

Earlier this year, the airline disclosed plans to expand further in 2022 with the addition of B767-300 widebody freighters.
